
His first book "And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street" was published by vanguard around 1937. He continued writing more literary works including The Cat in the Hat; If I Ran the Zoo; and Hunches in Bunches. Some people don't realize that he also wrote some books for adults like The Seven Lady Godivas; Oh, The Places You'll Go!; and You're Only Old Once.
Geisel died on Sept. 24, 1991 and his wife, Audrey Stone Dimond, currently heads the Dr. Seuss Enterprises.
